Uploading a screenshot

You can take screenshots while playing a game, or from the home screen. You can then upload these screenshots to an online service, or send them to Friends with (Messages).

Saving a screenshot

To save a screenshot, use any of these methods.

  • Press and hold the SHARE button.
  • Press the SHARE button, and then press the triangle button.
  • Press the SHARE button, and then select [Save Screenshot].

Depending on the type of content or the status of your system, you might not be able to take a screenshot.

Viewing your saved screenshots

Select (Capture Gallery) from the content area.
Press the OPTIONS button to sort saved screenshots by name or date, and delete screenshots. You can also copy saved screenshots to a USB storage device.

  • FAT and exFAT formatted USB storage devices are supported.
  • Be sure to fully insert the USB storage device into the USB port. Some devices are not compatible due to shape or design.
  • You can use screenshots to customize the background of your home screen and function screen. Highlight a screenshot, press the OPTIONS button, and then select [Set as Background].

Uploading a screenshot

Press the SHARE button, and then select [Screenshot] to capture and save the screenshot.

Select an upload destination.
Select (Activities) to upload the screenshot to PlayStation™Network and share it as an activity.

Select the screenshot.

Add comments, choose other options, and then select [Share].
If you selected (Messages) in step 2, select the recipient.
  • The first time you connect to an online service, you must enter your account information for that service. If you don't have an account, create one by visiting the online service's website.
  • The number of screenshots that you can upload at the same time, and methods for deleting uploaded screenshots, vary by online service.
